It's ALL about the Ladies!
Treasure Coast TAP is pleased to announce its Ladies' 8-Ball Team Division for 2025! Team rosters will be comprised of 5 ladies and will play TWO full 5-player matches against their scheduled opponent. Teams will be playing two player matches concurrently to keep things moving. As is the rule for regular TAP divisional teams, the maximum team skill level limit for the 5 players playing on each team is 25. ALL TAP Pool League rules apply to the Ladies' Division.
The host locations for the Ladies' Division will be Shooters Billiards and Raxx Billiards, so travel is possible. League play for this division will be held one Saturday each month throughout 2025 beginning at 1 pm at the host location according to the team schedule. January through November will be the regular divisional play, and each team will play a total of 22 matches. In December, the TOP 4 teams in the division will playoff for their entry into the TAP Ladies' "National" Championship to be held during "Rally In the Valley" in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania in the spring of 2026. The winning team will have its registration, airfare, and 3 hotel rooms paid for by Treasure Coast TAP. There are NO exceptions to this! The league will not "pay out" the winning team in lieu of the trip to play in the national championship.
Each player MUST BE a registered TAP player in good standing to participate. If you are not a member, JOIN TODAY! The annual fee is $20 and must be paid to participate. The weekly dues per team is $100.
Weekend Billiards Training Series
Session 2: Learning "Center Ball"
Date: To Be Announced
One of my goals as an advanced pool player and league licensee is to be a coach to my players. I want them to enjoy the sport of pocket billiards, but also learn more about the sport and elevate their play to new levels. These 90-minute interactive training sessions are designed for players of ALL skill level. Each session will be centered around topics, techniques, and tips that I've learned over my many years of playing the sport.
The first session for 2025 will be focused on learning the importance of "Playing Center Ball". It's fun to use a lot of English when playing billiards; however, cue ball control can be challenging when you don't fully understand where the cue ball will land. Playing center ball (top, middle, and bottom) will give you a better understanding of the path of the cue ball (tangent line) after striking the object ball and the rail. By mastering your play with center ball, your skill at the table will dramatically improve. And soon you will realize that English should only be applied when necessary.
In the coming weeks, I will be scheduling additional 90-minute interactive training sessions for up to 8 players on selected Saturday afternoons at one of the local pool halls to teach those attending about different aspects and techniques of pocket billiards. Each session will be specific to a topic, and is open to anyone who wants to join me to learn more about the sport... and themselves.
And the best part about these sessions is that they are FREE! I love this sport... and I want to do my part in promoting it and growing it, and elevating YOUR game!
This training session is limited to 8 players... so sign up today to participate! Click on the link to the left to register.
THANK YOU!
FIRST NIGHT!
Treasure Coast TAP Pool League's FIRST night of team session play began on February, 21 at Shooters Billiards in Port St. Lucie, Florida. It was a fun and successful night! The players enjoyed the TAP league format and showcased their skills in this skills-based league.
We look forward to continue to grow our league and the sport of pocket billiards in the Treasure Coast. We will be offering more league formats (including Singles and Scotch Doubles divisions) and new locations. Our "Bar League" Division for 8-ball teams is in the works. The FIRST Weekend Billiards Training Series ("The Fundamentals") is scheduled for March 16th, and the class is almost full. A second training series is in the works for April and will continue on a monthly basis, covering various concepts and topics of pocket billiards.
Needless to say, we are excited to be "off and running", and look forward to seeing more players get excited about TAP. Here are a couple of photos from our first night... and we will continue to showcase our players and their accomplishments here in "The Gallery."
